Sub-Acute Inpatient Providers and Exempt Units

Inpatient Psychiatric, Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facilities (including Medicare Swing Bed Services) are exempt from the Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and under distinct PPS. This course will introduce attendees to these provider types, as well as basic conditions of participation that allow them to be exempt from IPPS which in turn allows for higher reimbursements under their specific reimbursement systems.

Attendees will learn the major requirements to obtain exempt status with the Medicare program allowing enhanced reimbursement for inpatient sub-acute care services. A brief overview of exempt units’ reimbursement systems will also be provided.

QLI may cancel or reschedule a live webinar program at its discretion due to unforeseen circumstances. We will use reasonable efforts to notify registrants of the cancellation at least two weeks (10 business days) in advance of the original live webinar program.

If QLI cancels a live webinar program, refunds of the webinar registration fee will not be given. However, all current registrants at time of cancellation will obtain a credit to be applied to a future live webinar program of their choice.
