Medicare Designated Provider-Based Clinics and Departments - 2-Part Webinar Series

Wednesday-Thursday, February 19-20, 2020 | 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

Complying with Medicare Provider-Based Regulations allows hospitals and practices to participate in the 340B Pharmaceutical program and obtain higher Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. Provider-based designations increase Medicare reimbursements for physician practices and other outpatient services, such as pain management, wound care management, and cancer centers including joint ventures. However, the provider-based designation regulations are expansive, complex and challenging to implement.

In addition to the regulatory complexity, CMS has been implementing site-neutral payment policies for off-campus provider-based practices; as well as challenging some hospitals’ provider-based designations. With the reimbursement and other benefits inherent in the provider-based settings, this program is designed to assist hospital personnel to stay in compliance with the existing provider-based departments and practices, and assist with filing for and obtaining provider-based designation for new or existing services.

This webinar will detail underlying regulatory requirements for a facility to be deemed a provider-based department, or entity of a hospital or critical access hospital. An overview of the reimbursement benefits will also be highlighted and summarized; as provider-based designations affect hospital reimbursements in many different areas.
