Quality Update: Reducing Care Variation - Controlling Costs, Enhancing Outcomes

Tuesday, March 19, 2019 | 10:30 am - 11:30 am CST

What if the best care resulted in lower costs?

With expectations in 2019 of hospitals costs continuing to outpace reimbursement, it is imperative for hospitals to continue to reduce costs appropriately. Most have tackled typical costs related to workforce, payroll, and benefits; but declining reimbursement, patient volume shifts, increased payer oversight, and market pricing pressures threaten any balance.

In order to adjust to a shifting environment, changing the way care is provided is key to ongoing success. Systems must be aligned among providers, hospital administration and service line leaders. Alignment requires building an effective system to manage costs and must start with staff awareness and involvement. The webinar will provide insights of how to identify target populations for improvement and the steps necessary to reduce variation in care, resulting in enhanced outcomes and reduced costs of care.
