Regulatory Update: CMS Regulations and The Joint Commission Requirements for Violent Self-Destructive and Non-Violent Self-Destructive Restraints

Thursday, February 28, 2019 | 10:30 am - 11:30 am CST

Restraining a patient is not something a healthcare professional feels comfortable doing and should only be used as a last resort, but is sometimes the only way to keep a patient from causing harm to himself or others. When it is absolutely necessary, you should have the knowledge to be compliant when placing a patient into restraints.

Quorum Health Resources provides this webinar to aid hospitals in focusing on Patient Safety and Regulatory Requirements relating to placing a patient into restraints. Through this program, attendees will learn how to interpret and apply the CMS Conditions of Participation and The Joint Commission requirements for patients needing to be placed into restraints when exhibiting violent behavior and when exhibiting non-violent behavior, and how to incorporate performance measurement and patient safety into their hospital's quality processes in order to develop a culture of regulatory readiness.
