Reimbursement legislation and regulations are continuously evolving, and so must you. Join QHR Health’s John Waltko, Vice President, Regulatory and Financial Reporting, for this quarter’s Reimbursement and Regulatory update as he covers important issues such as new rules, federal legislation, landmark court decisions and changes in policy or policy interpretations by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that affect hospital reimbursement and operations.
This 3-part series will cover payment rate changes, Medicare geographic reclassification, uncompensated care payment revisions, Medicare low-volume payment adjustment update, and other reimbursement and payment policies being finalized by CMS for the 2021 federal fiscal year. The final rule, issued by CMS, is expected September 2020.
Due to the national health emergency declared due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will also provide updates to CARES Act Emergency Relief Fund and other acts of Congress impacting hospital reimbursements during the national emergency.
Payment rate increases for SNFs, inpatient psychiatric services, and rehabilitation hospitals will be highlighted; along with any material and significant adopted reimbursement policy changes for these sub-acute providers.
