Reimbursement & Regulatory Update: Inpatient Proposed Rules 2-Part Series

Join John Waltko, Vice President, QHR Regulatory and Financial Reporting, for this quarter’s Reimbursement and Regulatory update.

This 2-part series will cover payment rate changes, Medicare geographic reclassification, uncompensated care payment revisions, Medicare DSH payment revisions, Medicare Low Volume Payment Adjustment update, and other payment policies being proposed by CMS for the 2020 federal fiscal year. The proposed rule is expected to be issued by CMS by May 1, 2019. Other inpatient proposed payment rules will likewise be covered for SNFs, inpatient psychiatric services, rehabilitation hospitals IF CMS has material and significant policy proposals. Regulatory and legislative developments impacting hospitals reimbursements will also be highlighted.

  • Learn how to apply the CMS finalized payment policies and payment updates for all hospital inpatient services for the 2019 fiscal year
  • Determine if they qualify for Medicare geographic reclassification
  • Determine if they qualify for Low Volume Payment Adjustments and filing for the LVPA
  • Determining Medicare Uncompensated Care Reimbursement amount for the next fiscal year
